How to Increase a Woman's Sex Drive

Some women may find that they have no interest in sex. If this is an issue for you, are some safe and effective ways to increase your sex drive. Women’s sex drive naturally fluctuates over the years. Yet, as aging sets in, the negative change in a woman’s sexual desires becomes even more prominent and women lose their interest in sex more frequently and for longer periods of time. This effect is largely due to the decrease in the levels of the hormones estrogen and testosterone but other factors have their contribution too. Stress, depression, fatigue, childbirth, poor self-image, relationship conflicts, inability to reach orgasm, etc. – they can all cause a woman’s sex drive to diminish. Fortunately, there are ways to preserve and enhance female libido. Certain lifestyle changes, communication with their partner, getting in touch with emotions, can all make a big difference in women’s sex drive.

It’s been a while since you have had an interest in sex. The man in your life is reminding you regularly of his needs. His patience is running thin. You are uncertain what to do. Your guilt at not meeting his needs is intense. However, sometimes you just feel annoyed that he will not go away and forget about sex. Something needs to be done.

Just follow these simple steps.

Keep yourself fit. Regular exercise can do a lot of good besides improving your body image. It will elevate your mood, increase your stamina, improve your self-esteem and enhance your libido.

Don’t practice starvation as a diet technique. This leaves your body undernourished. Your body will rob calories from other areas to meet its energy needs. Reducing your sex drive is one way the body retaliates for starving it.

Eliminate stress. Reduce the stress in her life will help a woman feel more in the mood for sex. Depression can lead to the loss of your sex drive. It is not just a loss of interest in sex. You have lost interest in most of the things that you enjoy or want to do.

Many prescriptions, including acne medications, have been known to decrease female libido. Be careful.

If necessary, take a female natural libido enhancer.

Visit your physician. The first and most practical step is to visit with your doctor and find out if there is a physical reason for the demise of your sex drive. You may find, as many women have, that your loss of sex drive is related to some form of hormonal imbalance.

Reduce cocktails. Alcohol is wrongly assumed to be an effective treatment for low sex drive since it reduces inhibition. However, whereas a glass of wine may really lower sexual inhibitions, the excessive consumption of alcohol can only ruin your sex life.

If the problem for your low sex drive is not medical and there are no underlying problems in your life to be addressed you may consider seeing a sex therapist. Therapy sessions often include discussions of the couple’s relationship and sexuality, and education about sexual response and techniques.

The problem could sit on either side of the relationship and still create problems in the sex department. Spend some time with your mate and reconnect. This can do wonders for raising the libido.

Fear of pregnancy can lead to a diminished sex drive. Your emotions simply shut down your body’s natural tendency to want sex.

Special Note: You would have noticed that sometimes women will not feel in the mood for sex. This is especially true following the birth of a baby and incidents of sexual abuse. Therefore, the male partner need to understand this situation and should act carefully. If needed, a counselor may be seen.
